Jennifer Meyer, a resort sales manager from Huron, Ohio was suffering from fibromyalgia. She woke up to pain and depression daily. She was disgusted with her her soft body. Her life took for the better when she signed up for the Body-for-LIFE challenge. She also got a discounted rate at a local gym. ·      Women are vulnerable to potentially fatal heart arrhythmias, deviations from normal heartbeat rhythms, when they take some of the same drugs that stabilize heart rhythms in men.

·      The risk of lung cancer among women smokers is double that of men who smoke.

·      Women are more prone to anxiety and panic than men are.

·      Inactive women over 40 lose muscle mass twice as fast as inactive men do.

·      Women secrete less of the brain chemical serotonin than men do, making them more vulnerable to depression, mood disorders, and overeating (especially carbs) under stress.

Women's vulnerable times

According to research women have three periods in life when they are most vulnerable to weight gain. The first period is at the onset of menstruation, especially if it arrives early. The second period is the time around pregnancy, with a higher risk for women who are already overweight. The third period is between the ages of 40 and 60, the years during perimenopause and through menopause itself.
