The Military Diet Solution

The Military Diet by J.P. Jackson states that you can lose 10 pounds in just 3 short days! That is quite a statement. The diet is considered a "quick fix" for those weight loss emergencies that may be around the corner. Need to fit into that dress for that date this weekend? Is it two weeks until your cousin's wedding? Tired of the long-term weight loss solution and just want that quick-fix?

The diet has unknown origins but was believed to be from the need for military personnel to make weight to stay as a uniformed service personnel. Others have known the diet as the "Three Day Diet," the "Hot Dog and Ice Cream Diet", etc.

It is not a solution that is meant to be followed day in and day out as a long time solution to your weight loss needs. The key feature that distinguishes the diet is that it is for the short term.

A registered dietician commented that the diet is only 850 calories a day so it would be considered a very low calorie diet and should not be used for longer than 3 days without the proper medical supervision. It is a good way to kick start a more suitable lifestyle diet or to fit into that dress for that reunion coming up. Once again, only follow the diet for 3 days and then that's it. Reports from participants of the diet having noticed fast results as expected.

The Military Diet Solution Basic Instructions

The military diet states 4 basic instructions:

"1) Follow the prescribed 3-day meal plan.

2) Take a minimum of four days "off" the diet (i.e. eat normally)

3) Rinse and repeat for more weight loss.

4) Do not exceed three days of the diet at one time."

The Essentials

Hopefully you've made it this far. For the sake of repetition lets go over the most important rules that will make this diet happen. Ok trainee?

Rule Number One: Follow the 3-Day Diet Plan Verbatim, avoid substitutions if possible.

Rule Number Two: Do not go over 3 days in a single round.

Rule Number Three: Before starting another round of the diet eat your best for at least 4 days in a row. Be careful day 1 off of the diet because that is the day that most people run out and eat 2 cheeseburgers and 2 slices of cake. This just causes you to put back on all the pounds you lost.

Question: Should I Do PT? Or physical training while on the diet. The author recommends that you don't exercise while on the diet, so the only thing uncharacteristic about the military is no PT is required. You can do light exercise but it will be hard to pack on muscle with so few calories etc. (this is the author's opinion).

If you want the long list of foods you can substitute into the diet, make sure to head over to Amazon and purchase the Kindle Book. Here is a link, it is a cheap book.

Thank you and good luck.
