The snacks are 100 calories apiece. Some snack examples are 1 cup of blackberries, 1 medium orange, 1.5 cup raspberries, 1 cup cherries, 1 cup blueberries and 1/4 cup banana chips.
The number two in the diet refers to having one shake and one meal bar per day, or 2 shakes per day, or 2 meal bars per day. This allotment of a shake or meal bar occurs every breakfast and lunch according to the plan.
Slim Fast products such as the shake and meal bar are available for order online or at a local retailer such as WalMart or Walgreens.
One of the shakes that looks delicious is the Pina Colada shake. Each shake has 10 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and less than 200 calories.
The high fiber content of the shake helps you to stay full and keeps your bowel moving effectively. Some diets that are low calorie have a hard time getting adequate fiber intake, which can lead to constipation.
The meal bars are 200 calories each with 8+ grams of protein each. Some flavors of meal bars are chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate peanut caramel.
The 1 in the diet stands for 1 balanced 500-calorie meal everyday for dinner. Slim fast recommends for dinner that you have 0.5 of your plate veggies, 0.25 of your plate should be lean protein and 0.25 of your plate should be starch.
Recipes are available from the website. An example meal is Cheeseburgers with Peppery Coleslaw; another appealing recipe is for Fajitas with Creamy Salsa Dressing.
Benefits to weight loss are reviewed on the site and include lowering blood pressure, total and bad cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and blood sugar.
