The Grapefruit and Apple Cider Vinegar Combo Diet

Apple cider vinegar is an effective means to shed unwanted pounds; however, there is another player in the game: grapefruit. The apple cider vinegar works by suppressing the appetite as well as to help regulate the metabolism; this process is boosted and expedited by the presence of grapefruit.

Grapefruit is so effective at aid absorption that it is very important that you check with your doctor before consuming grapefruit if you are taking any medications. Grapefruit can enhance the effectiveness of medication so it is important that your Dr. Know in case he/she needs to change your dose. Effectiveness of medication can be increased so much that toxicity may result.

Benefits of Grapefruit

Grapefruit contains a lot of water and fiber, which fills one up quickly.  There are three amino acids found in grapefruit: tryptophan, lysine and methionine. Of interest is tryptophan. Those who are short of tryptophan crave sweets, making grapefruit a good food to prevent the consumption of sweets.

Another component of grapefruit is potassium, which has the opposite affect of sodium. While sodium causes the body to hold onto water, potassium causes the body to excrete water. The carbohydrates in grapefruit cause the release of insulin. Insulin acts by increasing the production of hormones that step up the metabolic rate.  Along with vitamin C in grapefruit are bioflavonoids that help activate the accumulation of fat-free hormones and enzymes.

Apples also raise healthy cholesterol known as HDL. More HDL is good. Apples can lower blood pressure according to a Yale University study. Apples are good for the teeth and keep blood sugar levels adequate while helping to fight colds. Due to the high fiber of apples, they make you fuller than the equivalent dose of carbohydrates from another food.  Make sure to eat apples to suppress your appetite!

Apple cider vinegar is believed to be a golden cure. It has been claimed that it can remedy afflictions such as asthma, hiccups, headaches, heartburn, and leg cramps. Others say it can clear vision, improve hearing, and heighten one’s mental processes.

The most dedicated people of apple cider vinegar even claim it can prolong life. Some of these claims are merely folklore while others have been medically proven.

Apple cider vinegar is believed to help you lose weight by helping you embrace better eating habits. It suppresses the appetite in addition to beating cravings for other edibles. Your desire for sweets as well as fat-laden and salt-laden foods should decrease. Summary

Grapefruit and apple cider vinegar is a combo diet that can help you shed unwanted pounds. It works by suppressing your appetite while providing needed minerals and vitamins. I’ve heard of grapefruit being touted in the past as an effective weight loss solution. I haven’t tried it personally because I don’t eat grapefruit. It just doesn’t taste right to me; however, after reading all about the benefits it doesn’t sound like it’s going to hurt you, it in fact, sounds really beneficial.

The apple cider vinegar sounds interesting as well. I’d be willing to give it all a try if I liked grapefruit. If you’re a lover of grapefruit this diet may seem really easy to you. The recipes seem easy to follow and the drinks sound tasty. I definitely, didn’t see anything harmful suggested in the diet plans. The diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables, which are very healthy.
